Choke Pull-Down Box for the Pierburg 2E series carburetors.
This assembly is in actual fact the vacuum pull down diaphragm for the choke mechanism on these highly complicated carburetors.
When the choke mechanism is activated, it closes the choke flap. Depending on the vacuum in the inlet tract, and thus throttle position, this pull-down diaphragm opens that flap slightly to allow a little more air in, thus wakening the mixture. This avoids an overly rich mixture when the throttle is opened by the accelerator.
Over the years, and depending on exact application (different makes of cars used different versions of this carburetor), the pull-down boxes differ slightly in shape.
Usually, the differences are found in the way it attaches to the bracket on the carburetor itself.
We have tried to illustrate this to the best of our abilities in the photographs which are "leading", so what you see is what you get.
This particular set consists of the pull-down itself, and two pieces of vacuum line.
Required quantity per carburettor: 1
This set consists of numbers 31 and 34 in the drawing.
The various version of this item also carry various Pierburg partnumbers but this is Number 129060004.
