PM10731 Choke Diaphragm for Solex Z2 carburetor
PM10731
Replacement diaphragm for the choke mechanism on a Solex Z2 carburetor.
These diaphragms now tend to suffer from age and the ravages of aggressive modern fuels which causes the "rubberized textile" material to harden and even crack, causing erratic running of the engine and fuel leaks.
Replacing the diaphragm is then the only sensible option.
True to tradition, the Solex Z2 carburetors use different variations of this diaphragm and the "how & why" is extremely badly documented...
At this moment in time, we can supply two different diaphragms but the sole difference between the two is the size of the metal dish at the bottom of the stalk.
The small version measures 13 mm in diameter while the larger one measures 22 mm.
We have tried to illustrate the difference in the picture below:
As there is no rule of thumb or documentation to look up which carburetor requires which diaphragm, there is little else that one can do but to disassemble the old diaphragm from the carburetor and measure the dish.
Required quantity per carburettor: 1
This is item number 30 in the drawing of the Solex Z2 carburetor.
