CCR4556 Throttle Shaft for Solex 40 PI Carburetors
CCR4556
Newly produced throttle shaft, or spindle if you prefer that name, to suit a Solex PI 40 carburetor as used on, amongst others, the Porsche 901 and early Porsche 911.
The particular set-up of the 40 PI consists of 2 float bowls which feed fuel to 6 individual carburettors which effectively gives each cylinder its own carburetor.
An overview of this set-up can be found HERE.
The throttle valve is secured in this spindle with 2 special, hollow, screws which should be peened to prevent them from becoming loose.
This also means that these screws can only be used once and should never be re-used.
For your convenience, you can order these screws right along with the shaft by selecting it through the Screws Y/N ? * menu right above the Add to Cart button.
You can even go one step further and also order a new throttle disc along with it through that same menu.
The required quantity of shafts per carburetor is: 1 (or 6 per car)
This is Number 2 on the drawing of the Solex 40 PI carburetors.
This is Porsche Part Number: 901.108.915.00 (for reference only!)
