Weber DMTL Conversion Kit for the Volkswagen Scirocco 1800.
If you own one of these cars with a Pierburg 2E2 carburettor, you are undoubtedly aware of the fact that that Pierburg is wearing quickly and reaching the end of its life.
This wear & tear, which is only natural, results in erratic idling, loss of power and increased fuel consumption while parts for the 2E2, bar the most essential gaskets and diaphragms, are virtually impossible to source nowadays.
Luckily, Weber and Webcon stepped in and created this conversion kit which does away with the troublesome Pierburg and replaces it with a brand new 2-stage Weber DMTL.
It is intended for the 1983 - 1991 Volkswagen Scirocco (and consequently also the Jetta and Golf) with the 1.781cc engine, manual gearbox and a Pierburg 2E2 carburettor.
Please note that cars with an automatic gearbox require a different linkage to operate the kick-down and consequently require a different conversion kit.
Please inquire HERE if you need the automatic version.
This conversion kit contains all the parts to replace the Pierburg 2E2 with a new Weber 32/34 DMTL carburetor.
This Weber DMTL is completely jetted to suit the VW 1800 engine.
In the process, you will also convert your car from automatic choke to manual choke (cable etc included).
As shown in the pictures, it comes with sundry parts to complete the conversion and even includes an adapter that will allow you to use the original VW airfilter to keep the "under bonnet" look as close to original as possible.
Service and Tuning Parts for your new Weber DMTL can be found HERE.
Thanks to VW's "modular" way of building cars, this kit is suited for the following VW models:
